Support from people who care

Our exercises classes are hosted in the shared gym space with All In Fitness. You get the benefit of state of the art equipment but with the guidance of a physiotherapist.
A wide-angle view of the Houlbrook Physiotherapy rehabilitation gym featuring blue exercise mats, kettlebells, and dumbbells on a black rubber floor, with a functional cable machine, rowing machine, and air bike in a bright, professional studio.
A modern, well-equipped rehabilitation gym featuring a multi-functional cable machine, free weights, dumbbells, and blue exercise mats on a professional rubber floor.

We’ve graded the difficulty of some of the exercises to cater for a range of abilities. This means there is plenty of scope to improve as you progress every week.

FAQs about our over 60's strength class

For your safety, when you are doing the exercise programme, please ensure that you have comfortable clothing and your footwear is comfortable and supportive. Ideally, you need a sole that allows you to feel the floor adequately –and provides grip.

There are 12 different exercises lasting for 1.30 minutes,  which we will repeat twice, with a short rest in between. The class lasts approximately an hour with a warm up and cool down and time for some chatting.

There isn’t instructions to follow but the physio will guide you through everything on your first session and will keep a record of what weights, bands or settings you use weekly.  So if you are unsure you can ask them on the day.

Your safety is paramount to us at Houlbrook Physiotherapy. If you need to rest at any point in the group, please do so; if you begin to feel unwell at any stage in the exercise class, please take a seat and make the physiotherapist leading the class aware. If the information you provided on the questionnaire changes, please inform us by email or telephone before the next class.
